Fran Artilleri

Chief of Staff

Department of Design and Construction

3030 Thomson Ave, Long Island City, NY 11101

Dear Ms. Artilleri,

I am currently interested in working at your company as an intern for the summer of 2019. I am currently a first-year full-time student enrolled into the City of College of New York enrolled into to the Grove School of Engineering. I am aiming towards a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. I have experience using programs such as AutoCAD, C++, JavaScript, and Microsoft applications. Aside programming, I can cooperate in a multitask environment applying leadership skills and contributing responsibility.

In the past I have taken many courses and programs relating to the engineering field. I have used many different programs to complete tasks and projects. For instance, I have taken a course for JavaScript that encoded a game machine to offer more games and applying different commands assigned with different buttons. I have also attended a spring 2017 STEM program offered at Copper Union in East Village that taught me C++ and encoded an electrical remote-controlled car build from scratch. Besides different courses and programs, I currently work at a retail store called JCPenney located in the Staten Island mall. To this day this job has taught me patience, fulfilling the costumers need, and establishing good relations with my coworkers. After a few months of working, I was responsible enough to be able to work with minimum supervision from my employer and to start gaining more responsibility.

Overall, I have attached a copy of my resume. I would love to be an addition to your team and hopefully we can talk more and meet face-to-face to answer any questions you have. I can be reached by phone (917) 443-6363 or email at melkafa000@citymail.cuny.edu. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Mena Elkafafi
